Lenovo Yoga Book goes on pre-order in the US

While we've seen no small amount of new devices back at IFA 2016 earlier this month, few managed to really make head turns and capture attendees' imaginations than the Lenovo Yoga Book. Part tablet, part laptop, part notepad, part stylish Frankenstein, the Yoga Book targets as many markets and use cases as Lenovo can. Interesting as it may be, the real test will be in sales numbers, and now that theory will be put to the test as the device starts its pre-order period, with a shipping date set for October.
While the Lenovo Yoga Book might look like any convertible, folding Lenovo Yoga at first glance, that impression is immediately banished when you notice there is no physical keyboard on the lower half of the fold. Instead, you have an OLED display that functions as an on-screen, virtual keyboard, Wacom graphics tablet, and notepad. It's an interesting, odd, and perplexing implementation of a years-old dream, and one that will soon be in consumer's hands rather than just videos and mockups.
In terms of specs, the Yoga Book is akin to a mid-range 2-in-1 tablet, powered by an Intel Atom x5, with 4 GB of RAM and a 10.1-inch Full HD screen. Just as unusual is Lenovo's decision to have two versions of the same device, differing only in the operating system installed, one with Android 6.0 and another with Windows 10.
Both devices are now available for pre-order, $499.99 for the Android version and $549.99 for the Windows model. Shipping is set to start within 4 to 5 weeks, on October 17 at the earliest.
