Lenovo Unveils Versatile Docking Android LePad Slate

Lenovo has just unveiled it's new Android 2.2-based slate. Sporting a 10.1-inch display and weighing just under two pounds the device will ship in a variety of color options and will have the option to dock to make it more of a notebook with added power as it docks.

Coming in scarlet, white, and brown and black textured leather the LePad will be an impressive option for anyone looking for an ultra-versitile Android-based media device. The device will be able to dock into the clamshell case complete with full keyboard and additional power to provide for a more laptop-like experience.

Once docked with the IdeaPad U1 Hybrid, the device will sport an Intel CULV Processor, which is a Core i5 clocked at 1.2 GHz. Other tablet features include a front-facing camera for video chat, WCDMA and EVDO connections, 1280 x 800 10.1-inch display, a 320 GB HDD, and 1GB RAM when using the slate, and 2GB RAM when you're in notebook mode.

You can pick up the slate for about $520 and the IdeaPad U1 Hybrid base will retail for $1,300 when it's made available first quarter 2011.
