Lenovo launches FLEX 5 and IdeaPad Duet two-in-one Chromebooks

In addition to the load of new Windows laptops it has introduced for CES 2020, Lenovo has taken the wraps off two new Chromebook devices, one that comes in the form of a laptop and the other that is a two-in-one detachable model. Called the FLEX 5 Chromebook and IdeaPad Duet Chromebook, both models run Google's Chrome OS and come in ultra-portable form factors.

The FLEX 5 Chromebook is a laptop-style Chromebook that features flexible hinges, enabling the display to fold back in the two-in-one design. The model weighs just under three pounds and sports a 13-inch Full HD IPS panel with three narrow bezels. As well, the model's keyboard is water-resistant and features a backlight.

Other FLEX 5 features include a durable aluminum top cover on the lid, as well as support for a stylus. The model is powered by up to the 10th-gen Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM, and up to 128GB of storage. Lenovo has packed a pair of 2-watt stereo speakers into the model, which is the first Chromebook to be Intel Project Athena certified.

Joining the FLEX 5 is Lenovo's new IdeaPad Duet Chromebook, a detachable model composed of a tablet with a kickstand and a related thin keyboard cover. The tablet portion of the Duet Chromebook features a 10.1-inch Full HD 400 nit display, a built-in kickstand, dual speakers and microphones, USB-C, up to 128GB of storage, up to 4GB of RAM, and a 7180mAh battery.

The detachable is powered by a Mediatek Helio P60T octa-core processor and ARM G72 MP3 graphics. The model will be available to purchase in May 2020 with a starting price of $279.99 USD.
