Lenovo IdeaPad U300S Ultrabook struts by the FCC

Lenovo's IdeaPad U300S Ultrabook has just passed through the FCC today in preparation for a launch next month. The super-slim laptop, first unveiled at IFA 2011 last week, is eager to take on the MacBook Air with a thinner and lighter physique while still packing in powerful performance.

We got a bit of hands-on time with the Lenovo IdeaPad U300S and it is looking rather nice with an all-aluminum chassis, weighing just 2.2 pounds and measuring 0.6-inches thin. It has a 13.3-inch 16:9 widescreen display along with full-sized ports, including USB 3.0 and HDMI, and a large ventilation grille to work with Intel's Advanced Cooling Technology. Inside, it boasts Intel's latest Core i7 processor, 4GB DDR3 RAM, and up to 256GB SSD.

Additionally, the U300S features a battery life of up to 8 hours with the ability to charge up to 50% in only 30 minutes. And it touts a cold boot-up in just 10 seconds. The laptop is expected to be available in two colors of Graphite Gray and Clementine Orange and is priced starting at $1195.
