Lenovo Creator line adds Yoga 2-in-1, two displays and a desktop PC
Lenovo's media-centric Creator range is getting five new additions at CES 2020, with two notebooks, a pair of displays, and a desktop PC all being added to the line-up. Featuring 10th Gen Intel Core processors, NVIDIA graphics, and USB-C connectivity, the new Windows 10 models also use Lenovo's Q-Control system for better power management without overheating or putting too much of a hit on battery life.
Lenovo Yoga Creator 7
Like all Lenovo's Yoga models, the Yoga Creator 7 distinguishes itself with a convertible hinge that can turn the 15.6-inch notebook into a tablet. In this case, it's a Full HD panel – with optional glass – with 100-percent sRGB color gamut support, and the full range of Pantone Matching System colors. Up to Intel's 10th Gen Core i7 processors can be paired with NVIDIA graphics.
Both Windows Hello facial recognition and a fingerprint sensor are included, and the battery is rated for up to 13 hours; Rapid Charge can add up to 80-percent of that in an hour's charging. Dolby Atmos support is included, through headphones or the convertible's speakers, and there's Alexa support with features like smart broadcast coming later in the year. WiFi 6 will be optional.
The Yoga Creator 7 tips the scales at 4.18 pounds and is 16.4mm thick. Now for the downside: Lenovo says it has no current plans to bring it to North America.
Lenovo IdeaPad Creator 5
If you don't need the convertible hinge, then the IdeaPad Creator 5 might be a good alternative. It, too, can be outfitted with up to 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processors, and has a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display with 100-percent Adobe RGB color support.
There's an NVIDIA GPU and Dolby Audio, together with Alexa support. Up to 8 hours of battery life are promised, along with Rapid Charge support, and there's up to 16GB of DDR4 memory and up to 1TB of PCIe SSD storage.
As with the Yoga Creator 7, the bad news about the IdeaPad Creator 5 is that Lenovo has no current plans to bring the notebook to North America.
Lenovo IdeaCentre Creator 5
The desktop PC is far from dead, and the IdeaCentre Creator 5 is a good reminder of why that is. Intended as an affordable jack-of-all-trades, it offers up to 10th Gen Intel Core i9 processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 graphics, together with up to 32GB of DDR memory.
Storage comes courtesy of up to 1TB of M.2 PCIe SSD or up to 2TB of HDD. Lenovo will offer two power supply options, too, either 310W or 380W, along with up to 2x2 WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0. Wired connectivity includes two USB 3.1 Gen 2, a USB 3.1 Type-C, four USB 2.0, a 3-in-1- card reader, HDMI and VGA out, gigabit ethernet, and an audio combo jack.
The IdeaCenter Creator 5 will go on sale in October 2020, priced from $1,099.99.
Lenovo Qreator 27 Monitor
Lenovo's new Qreator 27 Monitor promises 27-inches of 4K resolution, with an IPS Smart Crystal Sound display running at 3840 x 2160. Skinny bezels and a slender, single-piece stand put the focus on features like the 10-bit color depth, 98-percent DCI-P3 color gamut, and 1+ billion color support.
For connectivity, there's one HDMI 2.0, one DisplayPort 1.2, a USB Type-C 3.1 Ten 2, and two USB Type-A 3.0. The stand supports tilt, and there's a Qi wireless charging pad in the base for topping up your smartphone. As for your laptop, the USB-C connection can power it too.
Brightness clocks in at 400 nits, and Lenovo is talking up the Qreator 27's factory color calibration. It'll go on sale in March 2020, priced at $899.99.
Lenovo Q27h Monitor
Last of Lenovo's five Creator-series additions is the Q27h Monitor, an affordable 27-inch display. Like the Qreator 27 it uses an IPS panel, though here running at QHD 2560 x 1440 resolution. There's 350 nits of brightness, a 75 Hz refresh rate, and a 4ms response time.
Connectivity includes an HDMI 1.4 input, a DisplayPort 1.2, one USB Type-C 3.1, two USB Type-A 3.0, and a 3.5mm audio out. The stand supports tilt, though not height adjustment, and there are twin 3 water speaker and AMD Radeon FreeSync support.
Hook up a laptop via USB-C and the Smart Display will charge it, too. It'll be priced at $349.99, and is expected to go on sale from April 2020.
