Lenovo Chromebook C340 and S340 offer USB-C on a budget
Lenovo has taken the wraps off its new C340 and S340 Chromebooks, both offering consumers Google's Chrome OS alongside stylish ultrabook designs. The two new models will arrive in September with very low starting prices, the C340 being notable for its 11-inch size option and convertible design, the S340 for its larger size and dark aesthetic. The C340 and S340 join Lenovo's new business notebooks, tablets, and more.
Lenovo Chromebook C340
The new Lenovo Chromebook C340 is a convertible Chrome OS laptop offered in 11-inch and 15-inch sizes. The smaller of the two models features up to an Intel Celeron N4000 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 64GB eMMC storage; the larger model, meanwhile, offers up to an Intel Core i3-8130U processor, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB eMMC storage.
Both models sport a pair of 2W stereo speakers and up to 10 hours of battery life, as well as 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, two USB-C ports, a microSD card slot, and an audio combo jack. The 11-inch model features two USB-A 3.1 ports and the 15-inch model features a single USB-A 3.1 port.
The most notable aspect of the Chromebook C340 is the flexible hinge, offering the same flexibility found on the company's Yoga laptops and select other models. The 11-inch C340 will be available in September starting at $289.99 USD; the larger 15-inch model will be available in October starting at $429.99 USD.
Lenovo S340 Chromebook
Joining the C340 model is the new Lenovo Chromebook S340, a larger 14-inch Chromebook with a 180-degree hinge, slim frame, and Full HD IPS display. The S340 is offered with up to an Intel Celeron N4000 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 64GB of eMMC storage.
As with the C340, the S340 features two 2W stereo speakers and up to 10 hours of battery life, as well as 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, an audio combo jack, and a microSD card slot. Ports are expansive for an ultrabook, as well, with two USB-C ports and two USB-A 3.1 ports. This model is offered in Dark Orchid and Onyx Black colors.
The Lenovo Chromebook S340 will be available in September starting at $249.99 USD.
