Leica D-Lux 7 takes classic style to the smartphone age

This week the folks at Leica revealed the Leica D-Lux 7, the latest in their Lux lineup of "Swiss Army knife of Leica compact cameras." This latest model is small, has a high-resolution image sensor, and has a number of current-generation features we usually only expect of smartphones. That includes a touchscreen display, Bluetooth connectivity, Wi-fi, and USB-C charging.

This camera has some interesting "Post-Focus" software effects that allow the user to modify images they've captured. It's the first time this feature's been offered on the D-Lux line, allowing users to adjust focus after photo capture. We've been after a feature like that which works well for quite some time now. Many have tried, many have failed.

Users can "augment their Wi-Fi connectivity" with the Leica FOTOS app with this device. Users can also simply transfer photos with Bluetooth or Wi-Fi on their own. Videos, too, are a major focus of this camera. This camera has the ability to capture 4K video in 24, 25, or 30fps. Users can also record in "4K photo capture mode."
