LA Noire is coming to Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and VR

Generally speaking, Rockstar has stayed away from Nintendo consoles in recent years, but it revealed today that it will be tossing support behind the Switch with a port of LA Noire. That's not all it announced, as LA Noire will also be getting an enhanced re-release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, ushering the game into the current generation.

While the Switch version of LA Noire will feature a number of platform-specific enhancements, it doesn't sound like we'll be getting any noticeable upgrades to visual fidelity. The PS4 and Xbox One will feature improved visuals though, and Rockstar promises a "range of technical enhancements," which will include high resolution textures, improved lighting, and new camera angles. The game will run at 1080p on PS4 and Xbox One, with support for 4K on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.

Over on Nintendo Switch, players can expect a Joy-Con mode that supports gesture-based controls and HD rumble. You'll also be able to use contextual touch screen controls when playing the Switch in tablet mode, though Rockstar didn't really dive into much detail when it comes to when those controls will appear in-game.

Regardless of the platform you choose to buy this LA Noire re-release on, you'll be getting the original game and all available DLC. Even more is the fact that these new versions of the game will be launching alongside an HTC VIVE title called LA Noire: The VR Case Files, which rebuilds seven missions from the base game for virtual reality. Unfortunately, there's been no Oculus Rift or PSVR version of The VR Case Files confirmed just yet.

LA Noire for Switch, PS4, and Xbox One and LA Noire: The VR Case Files will both be launching on November 14, so you'll be able to play them this year. No word on pricing just yet, but considering the game is six-years-old at this point, a $60 price tag seems a little too steep. Then again, this is Rockstar we're talking about, so it might a good idea to brace for such a price anyway.
