Kinect PC support in near future tips Ballmer

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has reiterated the company's plans to add Kinect support to Windows, suggesting that the motion controller will gain some degree of integration with the PC platform "in a formal way in the right time." The news follows Bill Gates' comments last year, when he confirmed that both the Xbox and Windows teams had "latched onto" the motion-tracking camera system.

At the time, Gates suggested that and each team planned to develop applications that could range from gaming through controlling an HTPC, to increasing interaction in meetings. Ballmer has not yet suggested any implementations of his own, but it seems likely that gaming will be the obvious starting point.
