Keecker HomePod combines a projector and a robot

We've already adjusted to the reality of having small robotic vacuums clean our carpets for us, and so it wont take much to welcome the Keecker HomePod into our homes. Keecker is essentially a home-based robot, which will roll from place to place on command to projector images onto walls and otherwise serve as a mechanical media butler. Because of the HomePod's connected nature and integrated cameras, it can also double as a home surveillance system when the user isn't at home, combining the best of many Internet of Things systems into a single robot.

Keecker's best feature is arguably its integrated projector, which can be used to wirelessly project the display of compatible devices onto the wall or any other surface. For example, if you've a funny YouTube video to show off, you can "call" the robot in and have it project the video where everyone can see it.

The robotic butler features a 360-degree A/V camera in addition to the aforementioned projector, which can be used for things ranging from placing video calls to checking on your home remotely using the app (both Android and iOS supported). There is also a 3D surround sound system built in for playing music with the device. Rounding out the features is 1TB of internal storage space and a size that measures in at 16-inches x 11-inches.

As with many new products these days, Keecker is being funded on Kickstarter, where it has nearly hit its $100,000 goal with $83,845 in pledges. You can get one of these nifty robots by pledging at least $2,490 USD, which the makers say is only half the cost of the eventual retail pricing.
