JOOS Orange solar charger claims 20x more power than any similar device

I'm not very green. I leave my computer running all the time, I drive a car that uses as much gas as several Prius', and I like to leave the lights on when I walk room to room. The upside is that I don't have to worry about my car accelerating to 100mph unless I am really in a hurry. I do like the idea of solar power though, and I bet most gadget hounds do. Honestly it's not so much because the power is green, but the promise of being able to get power for my gadgets most anywhere.

A company called Solar Components has a new charger that is making some bold claims. The charger claims to be able to produce 20 to 30 times more power than any other personal solar charger on the market. I am taking that claim with a grain of salt; you can hardly believe the battery life claims made by any company today.

The JOOS Orange is a solar charger that can produce power in light shade or when it's cloudy and raining. Inside the solar charger is a 5400mAh battery that claims to be able to recharge most smartphones four times before it is depleted. The charger is also rugged with a waterproof design that is crush and shock resistant. The charger measures 8.58" x 5.77" x 0.79" and has adjustable legs and an optional reflector kit. The reflector kit is needed to reach the claimed 30x improvement over other chargers. Pricing and availability are unknown, but you can sign up to be notified when new info is available on Solar Components' JOOS Orange website.
