JetBlue moves forward with plans for free WiFi on all flights

If you are going on a trip that requires a long flight, you know how tedious it can be. The tedium has been broken up over the years with in-flight entertainment with movies and some planes offer WiFi. The catch is that WiFi is often expensive, but JetBlue is making strides to save passengers money while keeping them occupied on flights.

JetBlue has announced that it has advanced its efforts to become the only airline in the US that has free high-speed WiFi on all of its aircraft. The company has installed Fly-Fi hardware on Airbus A320 and A321 fleet and plans to launch Amazon Video on its service soon.

JetBlue installed the Fly-Fi hardware on over 150 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. The First Fly-Fi enabled E190 took its inaugural flight this wheel. JetBlue plans to complete Fly-Fi installation on all 60 of its fleet E190 aircraft by the fall of 2016.

When those aircraft are fitted out, the entire JetBlue fleet will offer WiFi at no cost. To use the Amazon Video on JetBlue flights, passengers will need their own Amazon Prime membership. Speed offered will be up to 20 mbps per device.
