JBL Flip 3 Bluetooth speaker boosts the bass

Harman has introduced its new JBL Flip 3, a cylindrical portable speaker that updates the product line. The speaker is said to offer "powerful sound" despite its diminutive size, and it is splash proof, which enables it to operate in places where it is subjected to moderate water exposure (it can be cleaned under the tap, says Harman). Other improvements over the JBL Flip 2 speakers include "richer bass" and better overall audio quality via the use of dual passive radiators. The speaker will start shipping later this week.

The speaker is made with a rubber housing and an unspecified durable fabric. The speaker will be available starting on July 23 later on this week from JBL's website for £99. The JBL Flip 3 features the JBL Connect button, which allows multiple speakers with the Connect feature to be connected together for a larger audio system. There's a speakerphone with both noise and echo cancellation for taking calls from a paired phone.

The latest JBL Flip speaker is also equipped with a 10-hour battery life via a rechargeable battery. A total of eight colors will be offered: teal, blue, yellow, orange, red, pink, grey, and black. The design, meanwhile, is rugged so that users can take full advantage of its "all-weather" capabilities.
