iPhone not as cool as Aston Martin suggests research

Apple has been riding high when it comes to user satisfaction surveys of late, but has it taken a hit when it comes to "cool"?  It's a pretty nebulous metric, but according to the CoolBrands Council the iPhone has been knocked off the number one spot for "cool" by Aston Martin.  The smartphone now holds second place, above the iPod at number three and BlackBerry at number four.

The research was apparently carried out among 2,000 consumers and then a panel of 35 industry insiders from the world of design, style magazines and websites.  The CoolStyle Council didn't speculate as to why the iPhone might have been pipped to the top, though broader availability and increasing market saturation of the Apple device might have affected its "rarity" value.
