iPhone 7 battery life extended... a tiny bit

Apple reveals the extended battery life of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus with a list of activities and life times. This is one of the big selling features on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, putting the devices ahead of every other iPhone that's been sold by Apple in the past 9 years. The iPhone 7, they suggest, can last up to 12 hours with 3G or LTE web browsing, while the iPhone 7 Plus can last 13. Wireless audio on the iPhone 7 will have the device running for a whopping 40 hours, while the iPhone 7 Plus could potentially last 60.

The big deal here, says Apple's Phil Schiller, is that the iPhone 7 lasts on average 2 more hours per day than the iPhone 6S. The iPhone 7 Plus lasts one more hour than the iPhone 6s Plus, too, says Schiller.

The Wireless Video time for the iPhone 7 is quoted at 13 hours, while on the iPhone 7 Plus users will be able to last 14 hours. Wi-Fi browsing on the iPhone 7 is said to last 14 hours, while the same activity on an iPhone 7 Plus is said to last one more hour than that.

After the difference in battery time between devices running wireless audio (20 more hours on an iPhone 7 Plus), the next biggest difference is in 3G talk (wireless) time. For an iPhone 7, Apple quotes 14 hours of battery time. For the same activity on an iPhone 7 Plus, Apple quotes 21 hours of battery time. That's significant, and we'll be interested in seeing how the difference is achieved.
