iPhone 4S hits China January 13 plus 21 other countries

Apple's iPhone 4S will launch in China along with 21 other countries come Friday January 13, the company has announced, the latest expansion of the fifth-gen iOS smartphone. Already a best-seller for the company, the iPhone 4S' Chinese launch will be accompanied by availability in Bolivia, the Cayman Islands and Botswana, among other locations; the full list is after the cut.

Apple has not given specific pricing details for each of the new countries getting the 4S, instead sticking to tradition and listing the US pricing only. Nonetheless, the company seems excited about the latent potential of the Chinese market.

"Customer response to our products in China has been off the charts," CEO Tim Cook said in a statement today. "With the launch in China next week, iPhone 4S will be available in over 90 countries making this our fastest iPhone rollout ever."
