iPhone 11 review roundup: Pro, Max, or no?

The iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max were all released into the internet review universe today all at once. The fact that these devices are all very similar in basic keyword-search terms should give you an idea of how important it is to Apple that you see them all as the same single overpowering force. The decision, you'll likely find as a consumer, will not feel like an "if" sort of thing, but a "which iPhone 11 should I buy" sort of thing.

Which iPhone 11 is best?

According to The Verge, "The extra money for the Pro basically buys you a far superior display, a telephoto camera, and improved LTE performance." The Verge's review of the iPhone 11 (non-pro) suggests that "If you've got an iPhone older than the XR and you're looking to upgrade, I think the answer is yes."

Reading USA Today, you'd find that any of the new iPhone 11 models are recommended if you need a new phone. "The cameras in the 11s are likely better than what you have, as is the precious resource we all need, battery life."

If you were to ask Engadget, the iPhone 11 is "so good you (probably) don't need the Pro." This comes from a true fan of the most-shipped iPhone of the past year, the iPhone XR. According to Wired, the iPhone 11 is "not the best iPhone you can buy, but it certainly is a very good one for the price."

Probably the most entertaining review out thus far is the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro tour of Disneyland from TechCrunch. Creator Matthew Panzarino made the effort in creating not just a flat, fair review, but a real-world experience to a magical place.

The Wall Street Journal has a subscriber-only review for "owners of Aging iPhones" and another for the cameras, specifically. You can find these reviews written by Joanna Stern at your leisure if you'd like some more in-depth reading today. SlashGear will also have reviews of these devices appearing soon!
