Intel Broadwell chips promised for Q4 2014

There should be little doubt now that the Broadwell generation of Intel chips will be out before the end of the year. This means higher-power processing and lower energy consumption – and it means Intel is bringing on chips faster than previously reported.

Word comes from Intel CEO Brian Krzanich at the Maker Faire in San Mateo, California this past weekend. Speaking amongst the massive hoards of offbeat creators and high-end printers, Krazanich let Reuters know that they'd be bringing Broadwell to the market soon.

Though they'd suffered setbacks, believe it or not, Intel is said to be bringing on the Broadwell generation of chips to availability for PC manufacturers by the fourth quarter of 2014.

Krzanich's made clear that while Intel's chips might not be ready for implementation by the start of the school year in the USA, they'd be out be the holiday season. He suggested that he could "guarantee for holiday, and not at the last second of holiday."
