Intel announces a new round of price cuts

As Intel prepares for a refresh to their Core 2 Duo line they have decided to cut prices across the board on their current processors.

Some of the cuts are very significant with the quad-core Q6600 dropping from $851 down to $530 and the Core 2 Duo E6700 coming down to $316 from $530. Other big drops are Xeon X3220 and the X3210 with the same price cuts as the Q6600 and E6700 respectively.

AMD has already reported that they are having trouble keeping up with Intel's pricing. With more significant drops like this, you have to wonder how AMD plans to bounce back.
