Instagram posts can now be saved as drafts

If you've ever found yourself trying to come up with the perfect post for Instagram but just knew the creative juices weren't quite there at that moment, then chances are you'll be overjoyed to hear of the platform's newest feature. Instagram is currently rolling out a "save as draft" option across its apps, allowing users to come back to posts later.

The feature was offered in a limited roll out earlier this year, but apparently the response to this test was positive enough that Instagram saw fit to release it on a wider scale. The feature should be rolling out now to everyone on iOS and Android, though some of you may not be seeing it right away. If that's the case, just sit tight, and it should arrive before long.

Instagram lists the steps to save a draft on its help page. To start, you'll tap the photo button at the bottom of the page to take or upload a photo or video. Apply your effects, location, filters, or a caption to the photo or video in question and then navigate back to the editing and filtering phase. From there, tap the back arrow in the upper left corner of the screen and you'll be presented with the option to save your post as a draft.

To return to drafts you've previously saved, tap the photo button once more and navigate to your library. It's there you'll find a new section called "drafts" at the bottom of the screen.

This is just the latest in a line of quality-of-life improvements Instagram has made to its various apps, recently giving its users the ability to tap to zoom, along with an option to filter certain keywords. Both of those features came on the heels of Instagram Stories, which gives a Snapchat-like spin to the photo and video sharing service.
