Instagram photo editing steps up in v6.0 for iOS and Android

Instagram has updated to v6.0 for iOS and Android, bringing with it a host of new and updated editing tools for photos shared on the social gallery service. Several new filters have arrived, including vignettes, warmth, and shadows, while video uploading on iOS has been simplified in this new iteration of the app.

Other new filter options include adjusting filter strength, brightness, contrast, saturation, highlights, and sharpen.

Meanwhile, the existing tools have been tweaked as well. There have been changes in the straighten and crop tools, along with borders, blur and tilt-shift, lux, and rotate.

Loading a new filter now also brings up a wrench icon. Tapping that opens up the settings, meaning the strength of the filter can be adjusted to change the overall effect.

The new versions of the Android and iOS Instagram apps are available today in Google Play and the App Store.
