Infinitec Pocket TV makes your dumb TV smart

Infinitec has taken to Kickstarter to raise funds for product it wants to bring to market called the Pocket TV. The company promises that the Pocket TV will make any TV into a smart TV. It's an interesting concept, which we have seen before. If you have an older TV that still works, and you don't want to fork over the money for smart TV just plug this in and get all the benefits of smart TV without having to spend as much cash.

The Pocket TV is a small dongle that's a bit bigger than your typical flash drive and has HDMI connector on one end. The dongle itself runs Android Ice Cream Sandwich, which means it supports all those apps you really like. The device is sized to be portable so you can take it with you on the road and use it anywhere, including a hotel room.

The device can also be connected directly to a projector to play presentations via cloud services or from a local SD card that acts as storage. The device supports up to 1080p resolution and can allow you to work on things such as document editing, and receiving e-mails. The Pocket TV device will come with either an IR remote or an Air Remote, the latter works in a method similar to the Wii remote control. The device has raised enough money to come to market, and delivery is estimated for October. If you want one, you need the pledge $110 or more. Check out the video below to see the device in action.
