Harmonix announces deal with Fender for upcoming Rock Band

When many people think of guitars, the first brand that comes to mind is Fender. It's no wonder why, many of the greatest guitarists of all time played on a Fender. Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton, and Jimi Hendrix just to name a few. So it's natural that Harmonix would want to make a deal to model their next plastic guitar after the Stratocaster.

The Stratocaster will be featured in the upcoming Rock Band game later this year. They have also signed deals with Roland for their synthesizers and Boss for their effects pedals. All three companies will have in game tie-ins.

I'm hoping that they go with some of the great guitar designs like Eddie Van Halen's Frankenstrat, and not Hello Kitty guitars. (Yes, they really do make Hello Kitty guitars)
