Huawei honor Note 8 could sport a 6.6-inch QHD screen

Huawei's honor sub-brand is commonly seen as the Chinese OEM's budget level smartphones. It shattered that stereotype with the honor 8, which practically rivaled Huawei's own P9 flagship. It's next smartphone might make yet another paradigm shift. For the first time, honor is climbing the Quad HD mountain. But that comes at a price. Spotted at TENAA is what is names as the honor Note 8 comes with a ginormous 6.6-inch screen, less than an inch away from becoming a tablet with phone functionality.

It's not exactly the largest "smartphone", more appropriately tablet, in the market, as Samsung does have a 7-inch slab of that kind. It is, however, an unusual size, as most devices between 6 and 7 inches usually land at a 6.44 sweet spot. But honor will have none of that silliness, it seems, and even taunts Xiaomi's 6.44-inch Mi Max as still being too small.

Then again, it would probably make some wonder why honor didn't go all the way. The 2560x1440 resolution would still be quite good even at full 7 inches. Plus, the odd 6.6-inch size would make it incompatible with generic cases and accessories for 6.4 and 7 inch devices. We're pretty sure honor will try to spin this size as a good thing, if and when it comes to unveiling the honor Note 8.

Like the honor 8, it seems that the honor Note 8 won't be a slacker, powered by a 2.5 GHz octa-core, most likely a Kirin 950 or a variant. There's also noted to be 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. The rear camera is where the phablet might disappoint, with a single 13 megapixel sensor. The front, however, does have a rather large 8 megapixels.

As to when the full reveal of the honor Note 8 will take place, there is no word on that yet. But given how it's already on TENAA, it shouldn't be long now.
