Huawei Honor 8 details spilled by TENAA

The Huawei Honor 8 smartphone has rolled into TENAA to get the certifications needed to go on sale in China. The press event for the smartphone is set for July 15 and all the details will be officially announced then. Ahead of that event roughly two weeks away, TENAA has offered up some images of the smartphone and details on hardware inside.

The display for the smartphone is a 5.2-inch unit with 1080p resolution and it's fitted with a Kirin 950/955 processor operating at 2.3GHz. That processor is paired with 4GB of RAM. Dimensions of the device are 145.5 x 71 x 7.45mm and the device tips the scales at 153g. A dual rear camera is the same as we saw on the Honor V8 with dual rear camera sensors of 12MP and an 8MP front camera.

The smartphone has an IR sensor inside to be used as a remote control, NFC, and a USB type-C port. The battery is a 2900 mAh unit that does support fast charging. The body of the smartphone is made from metal and has glass on three sides. The back has a fingerprint sensor integrated. The smartphone will support GSM, CDMA, TD-CDMA, TD-LTE, LTE, FDD, WCDMA, and CDMA 2000 networks. The operating system is Android 6.0 out of the box.

Two different storage capacities are tipped with one offering 32GB of storage and the other offering 64GB. The 32GB version is rumored to sell for 1999 yuan, a 32GB Netcom standard Edition will sell for 2199 yuan with a 64GB Netcom version selling for 2499 yuan. Official pricing and details on more aspects of the smartphone will come in that press event on July 15. The Honor 8 sounds very much like a slightly smaller Honor V8 that we have talked about before.
