HTC U 11 appears in red in new leaked renders

The official reveal of HTC's new U 11 smartphone, also known by its codename "Ocean," isn't until May 16th, but we have just gotten a look at the final, or near-final, design. A handful of leaked 3D renders have surfaced, showing the Android flagship with a deep red colored chassis. While we've already heard about the device's big squeezable edges feature, as well as the expected specs, this is our first look at the unibody design and near bezel-less display.

These images were published by 91mobiles in collaboration with known leaker 'Onleaks.' The renders are based on the kind CAD drawings that often originate from manufacturing factories or case makers. It's a safe bet these are accurate of what we'll see from HTC on May 16th, but there's always a chance a few small details could be changed.

The renders reveal the placement of various buttons and parts, including the home button with a fingerprint scanner placed on the front side's bottom bezel. On the bottom we see the USB-C port and a speaker grille, along with the noticeable lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack. Power and volume buttons are found on the right side, while the left has no buttons but is expected to be touch sensitive to various squeeze gestures.

On the back of the HTC U 11 will be a 12-megapixel camera, while a 16-megapixel selfie shooter can be found on the front above the 5.5-inch display. The phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM, 64GB or 128GB storage capacity, and a 3,000 mAh battery.
