HTC One SV hits UK for LTE midrange

HTC has revealed a new LTE smartphone for the UK, the HTC One SV, hitting EE and other networks with a 4.3-inch Super LCD2 display and a 5-megapixel camera. Running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC's Sense 4 on a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dualcore, the One SV aims for the midrange rather than the screaming territories of the DROID DNA.

That's carried over with the relatively humble cameras: the One SV gets a 5-megapixel sensor on the back, though it still packs an f/2.0 lens and uses a backside-illuminated sensor. The front camera is 1.6-megapixels and uses an f/2.2 lens. The same Continuous Shooting and Full HD video recording from high-end HTCs of late are also included, and there's 8GB of onboard storage.

Beats Audio is included, along with NFC; the microSD slot accepts up to 32GB cards, and there's integration with SkyDrive and Dropbox. The casing, meanwhile, is a combination of polycarbonate plastic and some color-coordinated mesh.

Unfortunately, that 4.3-inch display runs at WVGA resolution (800 x 480), though you do at least get WiFI a/b/g/n (2.4/5GHz) and Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX. There's also HSPA+ for up to 42Mbps downloads when you don't have LTE.

The HTC One SV will go on sale in "Pyrenees blue" and "Glacier white" in "the coming weeks" from EE and other operators. No word on pricing at this stage.
