HTC One M8 Unlocked and Developer Editions: for carrier-agnostics

Right off the bat HTC is going all-in with the HTC One M8 here in New York City, aiming to release every different edition of the handset as quick as possible. What you're seeing here is a concentrated effort by HTC to show confidence in their device – rather than waiting a period of time before releasing oddities like the Google Play Edition or carrier editions, they're all coming at once. This includes the HTC One M8 Developer Edition and SIM-unlocked editions as well.

The Developer Edition of the HTC One M8 will be rolling with abilities that essentially match those of the previous Developer Edition of the HTC One M7 from 2013. This generation will take on a unique roll with developers as it includes HTC's new Duo Camera setup at its back, allowing several levels of focus and UltraPixel quality.

This release will also be interesting for developers as HTC aims their HTC Sense 6 efforts at the masses. Developers will be targeted for initiatives that include BlinkFeed, for starters – this is going to be an HTC software experience as much as it is a hardware experience, after all.

Meanwhile the HTC One SIM-unlocked version – off-contract, that is – will be available direct from the company as well. Both versions of the device will be available starting March 25th, the same day as nearly every other version of the handset, for a cool $649 USD.

Have a peek at the timeline below for more information on the HTC One M8 and stick around as we deliver more hands-on and review action than you'll know what to do with. And developers, please feel free to come forward with your HTC One-specific creations – we'll want to see them!
