HTC One M10 details and release dates begin to flow

This morning a key detail in the 2016 release of HTC's next flagship was revealed. The code-name for the product was tipped: HTC Perfume. We're to understand that it'll smell like success. Not literally, of course – it'll probably smell like aluminum. What's possible with this device is a new look at the HTC flagship line, released with another predictable name (HTC One M10) but a whole new body. And Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, of course, and a whole new updated version of HTC Sense.

Word from the surprisingly historically accurate LlabTooFeR suggests that the next HTC flagship will be replacing the previously-rumored HTC O2. We're guessing HTC remembered that there's a carrier by that name – or that they'd need some H to breath. As such, the HTC Perfume takes its place with Android 6.1 and Sense 8.0_GP – which means very little without seeing the lot.

HTC One X9 spotted – 2016 release

We'll assume here that Android 6.1 will not have a new name, still rolling with the Marshmallow, as very few changes have been tipped by Google as happening any time soon. As with HTC's recent release schedule and smartphones out on the market at the moment, we can safely call this a Q2 release, with possible reveal at around February.

Perhaps even a Mobile World Congress 2016 reveal is in the cards.
