HTC Holiday visits FCC for AT&T 4G LTE

The HTC Holiday is expected to be AT&T's first 4G LTE smartphone and the device has just passed through the FCC, signaling an imminent launch. Earlier this month, the handset was caught being tested on AT&T's 4G LTE network with speeds reaching 29Mbps, faster than typical Verizon 4G LTE speeds. However, that was without real load on the network, which AT&T only plans to deploy in about 25 markets by year-end.

The device is expected to have a 4.5-inch qHD display, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with a back-illuminated sensor, dual-LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, and 1080p Full HD video capture support. It will run HTC Sense on top of Android 2.3 Gingerbread and support WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, and GPS.

However, it may be renamed the HTC Raider 4G at launch and has been confirmed to release with that moniker in other markets, including South Korea, where it will be capable of up 100Mbps download and 50Mbps upload speeds. AT&T's 4G LTE speeds certainly won't reach those heights and we'll just be glad if it can actually deliver the 29Mbps download and 6.43Mbps upload speeds last revealed in a leaked test.
