HTC HD2 hits O2 UK in week starting October 19th

According to carrier O2, the HTC HD2 will be launching in the UK from the week beginning October 19th, putting the flagship Windows Phone potentially less then 10 days away from capacious pockets.  We're yet to hear anything official from O2 or HTC themselves – the latter only told reporters that the HD2 would drop in October when they launched the Windows Mobile 6.5 device earlier this week – but customer services for the carrier have apparently been telling callers about the October 19th date.

That date, claims UK paper The Mirror, has since been confirmed by O2 PR.  The HTC HD2 has the largest display on a Windows Phone to date, with a 4.3-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen supporting multitouch gestures such as rotate and pinch-zoom.  It runs on Qualcomm's 1GHz Snapdragon chipset, making it among the fastest of smartphones, with HSPA, WiFi b/g and Bluetooth connectivity, GPS and USB Host support.  HTC exclusively confirmed to SlashGear earlier this week that the HD2 would – unlike the HTC Touch HD – be launching in the US come Q1 2010.
