HTC debuts 3 new Desire smartphones with unique paint effects

At MWC 2016 today, HTC unveiled the three latest models of its Desire smartphone lineup: the 530, 630, and 825. The trio sports a unique look, with each polycarbonate shell coated in a solid tone, with small bits of color literally splashed across the back. No two are exactly alike, with HTC imagining each one as being a canvas for their special paint process.

Several different color options are available for each model, such as Stratus White Remix with multi-color splashes, and Graphite Gray Remix with gold splashes, on both the Desire 630 and 825. The Desire 530 comes in Graphite Gray and Solid Stratus White colors. If these exact pairings don't suit users, or they prefer to personalize it with even more color, HTC has also designed several two-tone snap together cases featuring similar paint splash effects.

As for specs, the Desire 530 features a 5-inch 720p HD display, a quad-core 1.1 GHz processor with 1.5GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage, with microSD card support for expanding that up to 2TB. Users will find a 8MP camera on the rear with a f/2.4 aperture, and a 5MP shooter on the front, while the device is powered by a 2,200mAh battery.

The 5-inch Desire 630 and 5.5-inch Desire 825 also come with 720p HD displays, and on the inside of each is a quad-core 1.6 GHz processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage. Like their younger sibling, they can support up to 2TB of storage with microSD cards. Cameras are bumped up to 13MP on the rear with 1080p video recording capabilities and HDR modes, and 5MP on the front. The 630 has a 2,200mAh battery, and the larger 825 gets 2,700mAh.

All three of the new Desire smartphones will ship running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, with HTC saying they'll be available in store and online starting in March.
