HP set to launch new webOS smartphones in 2011

HP has been busy working on webOS and trying to figure out how to integrate the OS into all sorts of products to get the best from its purchase of Palm. Reports are coming in now that HP will in fact be offering up new smartphones using webOS in early 2011.

Senior VP Eric Cador said, "You will see us coming early next year with new phones." HP is the largest tech company on the planet in terms of revenue. Hopefully the company is able to make smartphones that use webOS that are more appealing to customers than the Pre and Pixi were.

Those phones had a nice OS, but sales of the devices weren't what Palm had hoped they would be. The purchase of Palm set HP back about $1.2 billion so they are eager to produce products that use webOS that consumers will want.
