HP Omen laptops pack advanced graphics in 15.6 or 17.3-inch packages

HP has expanded its Omen gaming line with the announcement of a new Omen desktop and Omen display as well as the unveiling of two new Omen laptops. The laptops include a 15.6-inch unit and a 17.3-inch laptop. The smaller of the duo has full HD resolution and the larger has 4K IPS tech for enhanced visuals. Both models feature a Dragon Red backlit keyboard and dual fans to keep them running cool during extended gaming sessions.

Power comes for a 62W battery that is towards the front of the notebook. Gamers can choose NVIDIA mobile graphics up to the 965M and a variety of Intel Core i7 quad core processors from the 6th generation series. Integrated webcams include a Wide Vision HD Camera and an optional Intel RealSense Camera for 3D.

Up to 16GB of RAM can be fitted and storage is up to a 512GB SSD or a 2TB HDD for single storage options. Gamers can choose both a 4TB HDD and a 128GB SSD on select models. Internal audio systems have tuning by Bang & Olufsen and HP Audio Boost tech for depth with dual speakers. The notebooks are fitted with HP Fast Charge and the battery is good for up to ten hours per charge on select models.

Those select models with long battery life won't be top of the line and will need an SSD. The gaming desktops will land at HP.com and BestBuy on July 10. The 15.6-inch laptop will start at $899.99 and the 17.3-inch will start at $979.99. Like all gaming machines, you can count on the price growing quickly if you option the machines heavily. HP has been unveiling all sorts of new products of late and one of the coolest new products is its Jet Fusion 3D printer. HP also unveiled a new EliteBook notebook computer this month.
