HP Mini Classmate PC Breaks Cover at Computex

Are you one of the many just getting out of school? Or, perhaps you've been out of school for years, but you still wait patiently for all those back-to-school specials for other reasons. It's a great time for deals, surely, but it's also a great time to see what companies are working on for their appropriate markets. For example, we've got here the HP Mini Classmate PC, which, as far as we can tell, looks crafted as much as possible to be for the kids out there in need of a laptop.

It's even got a handle on the back. And according to the folks at Engadget, it's actually completely made out of plastic, and it's remarkably chunky despite its deceivingly small stature. It's got a grey-hued keyboard, with the keys raised slightly away from the unit itself in a chicklet-style format. Under the hood you'll find an Intel Atom processor, and the Operating System (OS) is SuSE Linux 11.

This Mini Classmate was previously unannounced (even if it is similar to the previous Mini 5102), so you'll have to excuse us for not knowing the whole swath of details about it. And, sure enough, HP wasn't ready to divulge all the necessary details about the netbook, either. We'll have to wait a little while longer before we get all the info we need, but if you think it looks interesting enough, stay tuned. As soon as we know more, you will too.
