Here's your first real look at Cyberpunk 2077

For the most part, Microsoft's E3 2018 press conference contained reveals we already expected. There's a new Halo game on the way, along with Forza Horizon 4 and three new Gears of War games. If there was one truly surprising reveal during the show, however, it was that of Cyberpunk 2077, the next game from CD Projekt Red.

We've known about Cyberpunk 2077 for years and years at this point. CD Projekt Red first announced the game way back in 2012, but it wasn't long after that reveal that The Witcher 3 began taking up most of the studio's attention. In 2013, CD Projekt Red delivered the first teaser trailer for the game, but ever since then, there hasn't been whole lot to satiate eager gamers.

That all changed today, at the very end of Microsoft's E3 show. Just as Phil Spencer was about to bid the audience farewell, the screens on stage started to "malfunction" and a new video began to play. At long last, we were finally watching the first cinematic trailer for Cyberpunk 2077.

While there's no actual gameplay to be found in the trailer, we doubt many who are looking forward to this game are going to mind. This cinematic trailer has been a long time coming, and it definitely makes a case for Cyberpunk 2077 being a game to look forward to.

Sadly, if you were hoping for a release at the end of the trailer, you're going to be disappointed. There's still no talk on when this game might launch, but maybe its appearance at E3 2018 means that we're less than a year out? That's the hope at least, but we're going to have to wait on CD Projekt Red for more.
