Harman Kardon Omni Wireless HD Audio System arrives in October

Amidst the smartphones and tablets introduced at IFA 2014 is a new wireless audio system from Harman, the Harman Kardon Omni wireless audio setup. With the Omni system comes two loudspeakers, as well as a wireless adapter for integrating one's existing stereo system.

The Omni 10 and Omni 20 loudspeakers support 96kHz and 24-bit audio streaming, with both being able to run as standalone units or as part of a multi-channel system. Both are wireless, and are joined by the Adapt, the aforementioned wireless adapter for adding other speakers into the setup.

The system is open to apps from third-party developers, allowing users to tailor their setup to meet their specific needs. The Adapt is an HD offering, and supports playing different music in different speakers, so that every room with a speaker can stream different audio.

There's a related app to control it all, which works with the speakers and Adapt over WiFi, and it brings with it features like Follow Me Audio, which automatically shifts the audio to speakers in different rooms as you move between them. The system launches in October starting at £99.99.
