Expectations of in-car entertainment and navigation systems are rising, and Ford is hoping SYNC 3 will keep Android Auto and Apple CarPlay at bay. Bringing multimedia, navigation, phone, and even HVAC controls to a central touchscreen, it's counting on boosted voice control and AppLink, connecting apps like Pandora and Glympse on your smartphone to your dashboard, to differentiate. Ford expects SYNC 3 to be rolled out across its North American car range by the end of 2016.
