TCL Foldable Phone Prototype 2020 Gallery

TCL has a brand new foldable phone prototype, and unlike previous design efforts by the company, this one actually works. The new concept makes its debut at CES 2020, though a production version is yet to get a public timeline for release. That's partly because TCL still hasn't quite decided on the form-factor yet.

What we do know is that it has a 7.2-inch flexible plastic OLED screen, running at 2K resolution. That bends down the middle but, unlike with say Samsung's Galaxy Fold, the TCL foldable has no gap when it's closed. That's down to TCL's own special butterfly hinge design.

On the outside, meanwhile, this prototype design has four cameras and an LED flash. No external display, however, though again this could well change by the time TCL is ready for a production version.
