The Mandalorian was a big show for Disney in more ways than one. Not only was it one of the flagship series for Disney+, but it also introduced the world to The Child – know among Star Wars fans as Baby Yoda. If you’ve noticed a distinct lack of Baby Yoda merchandise, there’s a reason for that, as Disney’s product partners specifically held back their toys, games, and apparel so the surprise reveal of The Child wouldn’t be spoiled.
Now that the secret’s out, the floodgates can finally open, and open they will. Disney has announced a sea of new products from both The Mandalorian and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, with many of these new items centered around The Child. If you’ve ever wanted to own a Bluetooth speaker modeled after Baby Yoda, you’ll soon seriously be able to buy one.
It gets stranger than mere Bluetooth speakers carrying The Child’s likeness, as this batch of new products seems to have something for everyone. From backpacks and vinyl figures to beanies and even Fruit Roll-Ups, Disney is definitely looking to cash in on Baby Yoda’s newfound status as a pop culture icon. Many of these products will be on display at the New York Toy Fair from February 22nd to the 25th, with plans to launch them throughout 2020.
