SEAT el-Born Gallery

SEAT has revealed its new concept EV for the Geneva Motor Show 2019, but while the el-Born may be called a concept, in reality it's a thinly-veiled preview of the automaker's upcoming electric hatchback. Based on the Volkswagen Group's MEB platform, it'll target urban drivers with range estimated at 261 miles on the European cycle. US EPA range would almost certainly be considerably less.

Outside, SEAT's designers say aerodynamics were the primary concern. There are strong hints of Tesla Model 3 and Chevrolet Bolt EV, though that's no bad thing in aggregate. 20-inch wheels are likely to be toned down for the production version.

Inside, a 10-inch infotainment screen takes pride of place in a fairly sensible cabin – no weird flights of concept fancy here. That's important when you consider that SEAT plan to have a production EV on the market by 2020.
