Samsung Gear 360 Gallery

Samsung has been leading the charge for consumer virtual reality consumption, with the Gear VR headset, and now it wants to do the same for VR creation. The Samsung Gear 360 is its answer, a ball camera a little larger than a golf ball, complete with two wide-angle lenses, one on each side.

That gives it a full 360-degree field of view, at just short of 4K resolution. Hooked up via WiFi Direct to the new Samsung Galaxy S7 the camera and smartphone pairing can render VR video and upload it without going near a computer, though Samsung will have a PC app for those not upgrading to the latest smartphone.
