Samsung’s flagship Android phone of 2017, expectations are high for the Galaxy S8. As you might hope, therefore, there’s some serious design work that has gone into the new smartphone. Slim, with a glass front and back, and a curved Super AMOLED screen, there’s no separate “edge” derivative this time around.
On the back there’s the same 12-megapixel Dual Pixel camera as on the S7 and Note 7, though with updated software and algorithms. It’s next to the relocated fingerprint sensor, which has been moved from its previous spot on the front of the phone what with Samsung’s determination to slim the bezels significantly.
Meanwhile, there’s also a new Samsung Gear VR to work with the Galaxy S8, and an Oculus-powered controller too. All in all, it’s a solid showing ahead of Apple’s new iPhone 8 later this year.
