Nest Secure, Hello, and Cam IQ Outdoor Gallery

Nest had some obvious gaps in its line-up of smart home and security technology, and the Alphabet company has attempted to fill them all in one fell swoop. Nest Secure is the umbrella name for Nest's new home alarm system, consisting of a Nest Guard base station with a keypad and alarm, and Nest Detect motion and door/window sensors. While you can disarm the whole thing with the app or the keypad, there are also Nest Tags with NFC to quickly disable the system.

Nest Cam IQ Outdoor, meanwhile, takes the existing Nest Cam IQ capabilities of face-recognition and more, and packages it for external use. It's larger than the indoor model, and the power cable is designed for interior routing. That should make it more secure than was the case for the Nest Cam Outdoor, though will require some drilling for installation.

The Nest Hello, finally, is the company's new video doorbell. It mounts on the outside of the door frame and allows you to see, and talk to, whoever is at the door. If you can't speak, you can trigger one of a number of preset voice messages to be played back.
