Huawei MediaPad M5 Gallery

Huawei has a pair of new Android tablets, and the iPad firmly in its sights. Unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2018, the MediaPad M5 comes in two variations: an 8.4-inch and a 10.8-inch. Each has Huawei's own Kirin 960 processor and EMUI 8.0 interface.

Both get a ClariVu IPS display running at 2560 x 1600 resolution, with 2.5D curved class. Each has built-in cellular networking, too, with global band support. However, the MediaPad M5 10.8 throws in pogo-pins on the back, which work with Huawei's keyboard accessory.

The larger tablet also gets four speakers, versus the MediaPad 8.4's four. A Huawei M-Pen is included with the 10.8-inch model as well, with 50 days of battery life – recharging via USB-C in about an hour – and supporting 4,096 levels of pressure. Battery life for the tablets is up to 11 hours of 1080p playback for the 8.4 inch, and up to 10 hours of the same for the 10.8-inch.
