Luxury SUVs are a big deal right now, and so is squeezing superlatives from your posh truck of choice. Bentley is bringing in the big guns with its latest Bentayga model, claiming to have made the world’s fastest SUV. In the process, the Bentayga Speed edges just slightly ahead of the Lamborghini Urus.
It’s a small margin, mind: the new Bentley’s top speed is 190 mph, versus the Urus’ 189.5. 0-62 mph comes in 3.9 seconds for the Bentayga Speed, courtesy of a tuned W12 engine delivering 625 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. The biggest carbon ceramic brakes Bentley has offered on a production car are also available.
Outside there are dark tint finishes for the grilles and lights, along with a subtle body kit. Inside, Bentley has delivered Alcantara into the Bentayga’s cabin for the first time, along with special Speed badging and stitching. Expect the super-fast SUV to arrive in dealerships in 2019.
