Apple’s iPhone X may have been the dominating force at the company’s September 2017 event, but arguably the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will have a bigger impact on most users. That’s because they’re far more affordable than the $999+ smartphone, not to mention likely to be far more available in stores. That said, there’s a mixture of the new and the familiar onboard.
Outwardly the resemblance to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is there at first glance, but Apple has given the new phones a full glass back. That’s allowed for the inclusion of wireless charging, a frequent request in previous years. The cameras have been upgraded, too, and now support Portrait Mode on the front selfie camera.
Inside, new processors go hand in hand with iOS 11. Storage is up, too, and Apple says the displays are better than ever. Not bad for a tenth anniversary.
