Acura MDX Prototype Gallery

Acura has a new three-row luxury SUV coming, and the MDX Prototype gives a very good idea of what to expect. Headed into its fourth-generation, the 2021 MDX will arrive in dealerships early in 2021. That'll then be followed by the MDX Type S, the first time the SUV has been granted such a sports edition, in Summer 2021.

Styling features a larger, bolder grille and a longer, more sculpted hood. The lights are more jewel-like, and while the production MDX may not always ride on 21-inch wheels like this MDX Prototype does, it'll benefit visually and practically from a longer wheelbase. That adds up to more cabin space, including extra legroom across all three rows, and more headroom for those in the first and third rows.

A huge infotainment display is joined by a fully-digital driver's display. There'll be Acura's True Touchpad Interface for control, and AcuraWatch for active safety. Expect two engines: a standard 3.5-liter V6 with a 10-speed auto, and the Type S-exclusive 3.0-liter turbo V6.
