2022 Lamborghini Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae Gallery

The days of the V12 engine are numbered, but Lamborghini isn't going to let its iconic engines disappear without a fitting send-off. Witness, then, the 2022 Lamborghini Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae, the last hurrah of the Aventador and its beastly 6.5-liter engine. It'll be replaced by a plug-in hybrid.

The gas engine packs 770 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque, and is paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. In coupe form, 0-62 mph comes in 2.8 seconds, and 0-124 mph in 8.7 seconds; the roadster adds does it in 2.9 seconds and 8.8 seconds, respectively. Either way, top speed is a whopping 220 mph.

Outside, some of Lamborghini's most effective aero tech has been borrowed for this new flagship; inside, there are lashings of carbon fiber, leather, and Alcantara. Only 350 coupes and 250 roadsters will be produced, each individually numbered. US pricing will be confirmed closer to release.
