Jaguar is giving its F-TYPE range a makeover, and it’s a surprising one given the moves by the British automaker in the past to add more attainable engines into the line-up. For 2022, gone is the turbocharged four-cylinder engine that had formed the entry point into F-TYPE ownership. In its place is a new, surprisingly affordable supercharged V8.
That’s in the 2022 F-TYPE P450, with 444 horsepower and 428 lb-ft of torque to play with. 0-60 mph comes in 4.4 seconds, while maximum speed is 177 mph. There’ll be coupe and convertible versions, along with both RWD and AWD options, and Jaguar will offer an R-Dynamic trim too.
It’ll sit alongside the existing 2022 F-TYPE R, which will keep its 575 horsepower engine and standard all-wheel drive. The new P450 will be priced from $69,900 (plus $1,050 destination), while the F-TYPE R will be from $103,200 (plus destination).
